If you are a parent of school age children, you know how stressful it can be in the morning to get yourself ready as well as the ID-10069226kids. For our parents here at Park Canyon Apartments, we have a few tips to help decrease some of your morning stress.

  • Lay out clothes the night before for both yourself and your children.  Make sure to lay out a couple of outfits so the kids have an option.
  • Prepare back-packs the night before.  Have your children pack up their homework, books, permission slips, etc.
  • Prepare your coffee maker the night before.  If you have one with a timer, program it to have coffee ready for you when you get up in the morning.  If you don’t have a programmable coffee maker, all you will have to do in the morning is push the button to brew.
  • Turn on some up-beat music.  Studies have shown that upbeat music will get the blood pumping, boosting energy and improving moods.
  • Plan an easy to prepare breakfast that only take a few minutes to prepare such as frozen waffles or breakfast burritos that you can toast of microwave.
  • Ban the TV.  Kids eat breakfast and get out the door much faster without this distraction.
