Our Park Canyon Apartment residents will want to get the summer season off to a delicious, refreshing start!  What better way to ID-100137554celebrate the beginning of summer than with good food, cool beverages, and great music?  The Creative Arts Guild will have it all and then some at the 2nd Annual Low Country Boil and Cook-Off.  Oh, and the great music also means great dancing! Think “60’s” rock n’ roll and classic beach music! The Idol Rejects will be playing all those great sun-tanning, surf-riding, clam-digging, board-waxing, shag-dancing, party songs that everyone loves.

The celebration will include a variety of savory low country dishes served up by competing teams of good-natured chefs each vying for “Best of” awards, one of which will be the People’s Choice Award.  That’s where you come in!  You’ll get to sample food from each team’s table and then vote on your favorite recipes.  Naturally, good low country cooking goes best with a cold drink; there will be iced tea, lemonade, beer, sangria, and soft drinks.

If you like to do a little cooking yourself, it’s not too late to register your own team of low-country boilers and put your best country recipe up against the fare offered by the other competing teams.

Whether you enjoy cooking, eating, dancing or all three, this is the perfect event for family recreation and an early Father’s Day outing.

When:  June 20th from 6:00 PM until the food is gone and the dancing is done.
Where:  Spigel Pavilion at the Guild’s main facility, 520 West Waugh Street, in Dalton
Cost:  $25/ person
